Vintage Fox Hunt Oil Painting by M. Colomanus — Horses & Hounds, Hungarian Artist

A charming original vintage oil painting on wood board by Hungarian artist M. Colomanus, depicting a traditional English fox hunting party crossing a misty countryside landscape.

A distinguished group of elegantly dressed riders, some wearing classic red hunting coats, moves across an open field on horseback, accompanied by a lively pack of hounds. The horses are beautifully individualized through delicate brushwork and subtle variations in color, while the riders create a rhythmic procession across the landscape.

The atmospheric background is rendered in soft silvery grays, muted greens, and earthy browns, suggesting an early morning hunt beneath an overcast sky. The artist's refined miniature-like detailing contrasts beautifully with the softly blended trees and distant countryside, creating a sense of depth and quiet movement.

The painting is housed in a substantial, ornate gold-tone frame with elaborate scrolling foliage, sculptural corner ornamentation, and a warm aged patina. The richly decorated frame enhances the traditional character of the artwork and makes it an appealing addition to an English country house interior, equestrian collection, or classic gallery wall.

An original biographical label attached to the reverse provides historical information about the artist and his career.
