About MaksArtGallery

MaksArtGallery is a family-owned online art gallery based in Palm Coast, Florida, specializing in original, antique, vintage, and contemporary paintings. Founded in 2018, the gallery offers a personally curated collection of more than 300 artworks, with new paintings added weekly.

Approximately 90% of the collection consists of original works of art. Our particular strengths include 19th- and early 20th-century paintings, European art, listed artists, antique portraits, landscapes, and an extensive collection of original marine paintings, ships, seascapes, and maritime scenes.

MaksArtGallery originally operated both online and through a physical showroom in Massachusetts. After relocating to Florida, the gallery transitioned to primarily online sales, while local clients may arrange private viewings of selected artworks by appointment.

How MaksArtGallery Began

MaksArtGallery grew from a genuine love of painting long before it became a business. During years of traveling through Europe and Russia, we spent countless hours visiting museums and art collections, including the Louvre in Paris, the Prado Museum in Madrid, and the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow.

We were especially drawn to antique paintings. There is something remarkable about standing in front of an artwork created more than a century ago and realizing that it has survived into our time. Through old landscapes, portraits, city scenes, and everyday life captured by artists of the past, we can glimpse places, people, and entire eras that no longer exist.

After moving to the United States, that fascination gradually developed into collecting. We wanted to find paintings that moved us personally, build a collection of interesting and distinctive works, and give other people the opportunity to discover and live with original art as well. In 2018, that passion became MaksArtGallery.

A Collection Chosen Personally

Every painting offered by MaksArtGallery is personally selected by us. We do not build the collection around a formula or simply add artwork to fill a particular category. Before a painting becomes part of the gallery, it has to capture our own attention first.

Sometimes it is the quality of the painting, sometimes an unusual subject, a beautiful composition, a remarkable sense of atmosphere, or simply something difficult to explain. We choose works that we find distinctive, expressive, or memorable — paintings that we ourselves would be happy to live with.

This personal approach means that the MaksArtGallery collection is constantly evolving. With more than 300 paintings and new works added every week, it brings together different periods, schools, subjects, and styles while remaining connected by one simple principle: every artwork was chosen because we genuinely saw something special in it.

What We Specialize In

MaksArtGallery specializes primarily in original paintings across a wide range of periods, styles, and subjects. Approximately 90% of the artworks in our collection are originals, with a particularly strong selection of antique paintings from the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Our collection includes European and American art, works by listed artists, antique portraits, landscapes, cityscapes, still lifes, genre scenes, as well as modern and contemporary paintings. We are drawn to artworks with individuality and character rather than mass-produced prints, reproductions, or factory-made wall décor.

Because our collection is selected individually rather than built around a fixed inventory, it continues to change as new paintings are discovered and added.

A Special Focus on Marine Art

Marine art has become one of the most distinctive strengths of the MaksArtGallery collection. Over the years, we have assembled an extensive selection of original ship paintings, seascapes, harbor scenes, sailing vessels, coastal views, and other maritime subjects from different periods and artistic traditions.

From historic sailing ships and dramatic seas to quiet coastal scenes and atmospheric marine landscapes, these paintings capture the constantly changing relationship between water, light, weather, and human life at sea. Many of our returning collectors have developed a particular interest in maritime art, sometimes building collections around ships and seascapes over multiple purchases.

Researching the Story Behind a Painting

Older paintings often arrive with questions — and discovering what we can about them is an important part of our work at MaksArtGallery. We carefully examine each work for signatures, inscriptions, labels, markings, and other details that may provide clues about the artist, origin, or history of the painting.

Sometimes important details are difficult to see at first. When appropriate, we may remove a painting from its frame to examine areas that were previously hidden and look more closely at the artwork and its construction. If a signature can be identified, we research the artist, available biographical information, and relevant art-market or auction records. We also consider materials, style, construction, and visible signs of age when estimating the period of an older work.

Not every mystery can be solved — and we believe it is important to be clear about that. An old signature may be faded, partially hidden, illegible, or completely absent. When we cannot reliably identify an artist, we do not assign an unsupported attribution simply to give the painting a name. Instead, when reasonably possible, we describe the likely period, style, or artistic school, such as European or American.

Condition, Age & Transparency

Age is part of the character of an antique or vintage painting, but we believe buyers should know as much as possible about the actual condition of the artwork they are considering. At MaksArtGallery, we carefully examine older paintings and describe visible condition issues as accurately as possible.

Depending on the artwork, this may include craquelure, surface wear, canvas damage, patches, previous repairs, areas of restoration, or signs of age and wear to the frame. These characteristics are not unusual in paintings that have existed for many decades — or even more than a century — but they are still important for a buyer to understand.

Because many of our clients purchase paintings entirely online, photographs are an essential part of every listing. We provide multiple images and, whenever relevant, close-up photographs of signatures, surface details, frames, the reverse of the artwork, and visible imperfections. Our goal is simple: we want you to have a clear and realistic understanding of the painting you are purchasing before it arrives at your door.

Serg Graff & MaksArtGallery

Serg Graff is a contemporary artist based in the United States, co-owner of MaksArtGallery, and an important part of the gallery’s contemporary art collection. MaksArtGallery is the official representative of Serg Graff and holds exclusive rights to sell his original paintings.

New works by Serg Graff are presented through MaksArtGallery, and each painting is a one-of-a-kind, hand-created original. His visual language is highly distinctive and immediately recognizable, combining expressive line, vivid color, layered imagery, symbolism, and spontaneous narrative detail.

Every original Serg Graff painting sold through MaksArtGallery is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity personally issued and hand-signed by the artist. The certificate documents the individual artwork and accompanies it to its new collector.

Serg Graff’s paintings are held in private collections internationally, and a number of collectors return to MaksArtGallery specifically to add additional works by the artist to their collections.

From Our Gallery to Your Home

Shipping original art requires more than simply placing a painting in a box. At MaksArtGallery, we personally pack every artwork we ship and take the process very seriously.

We ship paintings throughout the United States, including large-format works. Each artwork is carefully protected according to its size, frame, and construction. Depending on the painting, we use multiple protective layers, bubble wrap, rigid foam protection, and sturdy reinforced packaging to help protect the canvas, frame, and corners during transit.

Packages are also protected against moisture whenever appropriate and clearly marked for careful handling. Most domestic orders are shipped via UPS with tracking, and we offer same-day shipping whenever possible because we know how exciting it is to purchase a painting and how much you want to see it in your home.

International shipping is also available for many small and medium-sized paintings. Because international carriers have strict size limitations and oversized art can become extremely expensive to transport safely, international availability depends on the dimensions of the individual artwork.
