This is an original signed oil painting on board, depicting “Lugger 1709,” a classic sailing vessel. A lugger is a traditional ship rigged with lugsails on one or several masts. These vessels were widely used along the coasts of France, England, Ireland, and Scotland and became notorious for smuggling operations from the mid-18th century onward.
