Up for sale is an antique original oil painting on canvas depicting a seascape - Figures in a sailboat in the open water.

Signed in a lower-left corner H. Wacker, DF. DF - "Duesseldorf- Ferch/Schwielowsee".

Condition: Minor surface grime to the sky. Presented in a gorgeous period ornate gold frame, hand decorated. The last photo shows a white contemporary canvas, but this canvas was installed to the frame for supporting the painting. The original backside of this painting is in photo #3. Please see the photos, photos are part of the description.

Framed measures 26.5" x 22.5", painting measures 18.5"x 13.5".

Hans Wacker-Elsen was a German artist born on September 10, 1868, in Aachen, Germany, and died on March 2, 1958, in Krefeld, Germany. He was primarily known for his work as a sculptor and painter.

Wacker-Elsen studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and later in Paris, where he was influenced by the Impressionist movement.

Throughout his career, Wacker-Elsen participated in numerous exhibitions in Germany and internationally, gaining recognition for his artistic contributions. He was associated with the Düsseldorf School of Art, a group of artists who were active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and were known for their n

His works can still be found in various collections and museums.
