The composition shows elegantly dressed figures gathered along the riverbank outside the gates of a walled city, with a stone bridge and fluttering banners set against a golden sky.

The work is signed in the lower right corner and dated ’69. The artist’s label is affixed to the reverse.

Presented in an ornate period gold carved frame, the painting measures 44.5" x 34.5" framed and 39.5" x 29" sight.

Condition: The painting shows two repaired tears (patches visible on verso) but displays beautifully from the front.
