About the Artist

Morris Katz (1931–2010) was a Polish-born American painter celebrated as one of the most recognizable palette knife artists of the twentieth century. After immigrating to the United States, he developed his revolutionary "Instant Art" technique, allowing him to complete paintings in minutes using only a palette knife and a few bold strokes.

Katz became internationally famous through hundreds of television appearances, including Ripley's Believe It or Not, The Mike Douglas Show, The David Letterman Show, 60 Minutes, and many others. He held several Guinness World Records, including recognition as the world's fastest artist and for producing the largest body of saleable artwork.

His paintings have been exhibited in museums around the world, with works included in the collections of more than 100 museums, including the Smithsonian Institution. His portrait of Pope Paul VI sold more than three million reproductions worldwide. Katz also authored Paint Good and Fast, explaining his famous painting technique, and spent decades entertaining audiences through live demonstrations across America and internationally.

Today, Morris Katz remains one of the most collected modern American palette knife artists, admired for his vibrant personality, technical originality, and unmistakable style.
