19 cent or earlier Signed Antique Original Oil Painting on canvas, Genre Scene

Up for sale is a fabulous antique 19th-century (or earlier) original oil painting on canvas depicting a richly detailed interior scene with dramatic Orientalist flair. The central figure is a seated female nude queen, adorned with a jeweled crown, ancient Roman-style gold and gem-studded jewelry, and draped in a sheer diaphanous wrap.

The queen extends gold chains to a partly nude female supplicant kneeling before her. Behind them stand two imposing Orientalist male figures, acting as ceremonial guardians. The painting is filled with rich detail, warm tones, and a regal atmosphere.

• Signed in the lower right corner (signature difficult to read).

• Condition: Stable craquelure overall, minor repair to the left male figure’s arm. Presents beautifully and is overall in very good antique condition.

• Frame: Handsome period frame complements the composition.
