1920 Original Antique Painting on board, Seascape, Sailboat. Dated, Signed

Up for sale is an original antique oil painting on board depicting  a dramatic maritime scene with a sailing ship battling through a stormy sea. The ship, with its tall masts and partially unfurled sails, tilts at a precarious angle as it navigates rough waters. The dark, turbulent waves crash against the ship's hull, creating a sense of intensity and movement. The sky is filled with ominous, swirling clouds in dark blues and greens, suggesting an impending storm or the height of a tempest.

The artist uses deep, moody colors to convey the raw power of nature, contrasting the dark sea and sky with the pale sails that catch the light even in the dim atmosphere. The brushstrokes are bold and expressive, capturing the texture of the waves and the tension in the sails.

Monogrammed and dates in the lower right-hand corner  '20. There are some handwritten notes on the back side of the board.
